Patrick Topping, Rebūke and 1111 unite on ‘People Dancing’

Patrick Topping and Rebūke have joined forces with UK DJ, producer and vocalist 1111 for ‘People Dancing’, a new collaborative single set to arrive via Trick on August 21.

Built firmly for the dancefloor, ‘People Dancing’ pairs pounding drums and a driving bassline with off-kilter synths, distorted stabs and warped acid elements. 1111’s vocal runs through the centre of the track, gradually pushing the production towards its peak-time payoff.

“I’ve always believed music is meant to bring people together,” says 1111. “This record is about exactly that: people dancing without a care, connecting with each other and getting lost in the music as a collective.”

The release brings together three artists operating across different corners of contemporary club music. Patrick Topping has spent more than a decade establishing himself within the house and techno circuit, while his Trick imprint has developed into a platform for both his own productions and a growing roster of club-focused artists.

Irish producer Rebūke joins the collaboration following a run that has taken him from underground releases to major international stages, including Coachella and Sphere Las Vegas. His catalogue includes releases through labels such as Hot Creations and Afterlife, combining elements of house, techno and melodic electronic music.

Completing the collaboration is Lauren Cumberpatch, AKA 1111, whose work moves between DJing, production and vocals. Emerging through the UK underground, she has received support from BBC Radio 1 selectors including Jaguar, Danny Howard, Sarah Story and Jeremiah Asiamah.

‘People Dancing’ marks the first collaboration between Topping, Rebūke and 1111, bringing their respective approaches together around a simple premise: a record designed to get people moving.
