Wakyin turns up the heat with ‘Peligrosa’

There is a particular way Wakyin writes a track. It doesn't just ride the beat; it carries history. After the hurricane that was Beso, with 145 million streams and counting, he re-emerges with Peligrosa, a cut that plants melodic house firmly in Caribbean soil and lets it bloom on the global stage.

Out now on Ultra Records, Peligrosa is pure body language. Afro-leaning percussion, a bassline that coils tight around the hips, and a vocal that burrows into your head until you are humming it in the taxi home. It is already leaking into the sets of Adam Port, &ME, Gordo, and beyond, proving its versatility. This is the kind of track that detonates at 3 am under strobes, but also breathes wide across festival sunsets.

What makes it dangerous, what makes it Peligrosa, is its balance. Wakyin knows how to lace the emotional with the functional, how to turn heritage into a hypnotic force. This is not a comeback. It is a reminder. The Dominican and Puerto Rican artist is no one-hit wonder. He is crafting anthems for a generation that craves rhythm with roots and euphoria with substance.

Wakyin’s Peligrosa is out now via Ultra Records.
