Pete Tong, MoBlack, Max Zotti and Monolink come together for superb new cover of 'Apocalypse'

Contemporary powerhouses Pete Tong, MoBlack, Max Zotti and Monolink have come together for a new cover of Cigarettes After Sex's 2017 hit 'Apocalypse.'

That original track has picked up over 1.3 billion streams on Spotify and Platinum certifications in multiple countries and is widely loved for its evocative lyrics and dreamy sound. Here it has been reimagined into a mesmerising blend of electronic and vocal artistry and comes on Embassy One, a Berlin-based label renowned for pushing genre boundaries.

Pete Tong is a peerless tastemaker and long time BBC Radio legend who here joins forces with Afro house innovator MoBlack, Italian producer Max Zotti and German singer-songwriter Monolink.

The latter provide the instrumental foundation of this cover and craft a deeply atmospheric backdrop while Monolink’s distinctive vocals add emotion. Add in some subtle keys, loose guitar picking and gentle drums and you have a hugely absorbing sound that marks one of the biggest collaborations of the year so far.

This reworked version of 'Apocalypse' bridges generations of electronic music lovers by adding an updated spin to the original. It can be heard here.
