Novah in her own words

Every artist has a defining moment—a spark that transforms passion into purpose, setting them on a path of no return. For Novah, that moment arrived at the Voltage Festival in Belgium. Before that night, her musical tastes gravitated towards artists like Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens, but the raw energy of hard techno was something she had yet to experience. As soon as she stepped into Voltage, everything shifted. The pounding beats, the hypnotic rhythms, the way the music seemed to unite an entire crowd in collective euphoria—it was an awakening.
That night was more than just a revelation; it was a calling. Novah had already begun DJing at that point, but after Voltage, and later Extrema, she knew she needed to do more than just listen. She had to be a part of it, create it, and contribute to this electrifying culture. From that moment forward, hard techno became her driving force, an art form through which she could channel not only her passion but also her deeper sense of purpose.
Over the past few years, Novah has carved out a name for herself in the scene, gaining recognition for her signature fusion of acid, trance, and hard techno. She has played unforgettable sets, released tracks on prestigious labels, and built a strong connection with her audience. More than just an artist, she is a storyteller, using music to create moments of escape, rebellion, and unity. Her sets aren’t just performances; they are journeys designed to push boundaries, challenge norms, and transport listeners to a space beyond the ordinary.
Throughout our conversation, Novah opened up about the pivotal moments that defined her career, the electrifying bond she shares with her audience, and the emotions that drive her productions. She spoke about her creative process—how she balances intuition with intention when crafting tracks—and the struggle of knowing when a song is truly finished. For her, every track is a narrative, and ensuring it conveys the right message is just as important as its technical perfection.
We also discussed her experiences working with industry-leading labels like Taapion, No Mercy, and Teletech, as well as the invaluable lessons she has learned from these collaborations. Novah reflected on the deeper meaning behind hard techno, explaining how it is more than just music—it is a culture, a form of resistance, a sanctuary for those who seek freedom through sound. She also shared her views on how the genre continues to evolve, with new influences shaping its trajectory while still maintaining its essence.
Finally, she shared her future aspirations, hinting at an evolution in her sound with more trance influences and even cinematic elements in her productions. With 2025 shaping up to be a milestone year for her, Novah remains focused on pushing boundaries, staying authentic, and creating music that leaves a lasting impact. She envisions herself exploring live performance elements, integrating new visual and sonic dimensions into her sets, and finding ways to deepen the emotional resonance of her music.

Start of This Artistic Journey
Every artist has that defining moment when passion transforms into purpose, marking the beginning of a unique artistic path. For Novah, that moment arrived at the Voltage Festival in Belgium. While initially more drawn to artists like Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens, it was at Voltage that the world of hard techno revealed itself to him.
"That moment for me happened at a festival called Voltage in Belgium. At the time, I wasn’t very familiar with hard techno—I was more into artists like Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens. But when I stepped into Voltage, everything changed. The music, the atmosphere, the people—it was unlike anything I had experienced before. There was this incredible sense of freedom and togetherness, a space where everyone could just be without judgment. I had already started DJing at that point, but after that festival, and later Extrema, I knew hard techno wasn’t just something I wanted to listen to—I needed to be a part of it, to create it, and to contribute to that world. That night defined my path as an artist."
Hard techno is known for drawing a fiercely dedicated and emotionally invested fanbase. For Novah, moments during her sets remind him of why she chooses this path. One of the most impactful experiences came during her first All Night Long set at Club Vaag in Antwerp, where the crowd's energy was palpable.
"One of the most unforgettable moments was during my first All Night Long at Club Vaag in Antwerp. The energy in that room was unreal—every single person was locked in with me, feeding off the music, completely immersed in the moment. There wasn’t a single second of that night that felt dull; the love and energy were overwhelming. It’s moments like that—when I see people feeling the music the way I do—that remind me exactly why I do this. It’s more than just playing tracks; it’s about creating an experience where people can lose themselves, connect, and just be."
For Novah, her performances transcend mere music; they are a shared experience where both she and the audience feed off one another’s energy. This sense of togetherness is integral to her approach as an artist.
"Hard techno is more than just music—it’s a movement, a shared energy. It’s freedom, it’s rebellion, it’s a way of expressing emotions that words can’t capture. For me, it’s not just about creating an escape, but about building a sense of unity. When I play, I want people to feel that same sense of belonging I felt during my first festival. The hard techno community is one of the most passionate and dedicated ones out there, and I want my music to contribute to that—to be a part of something bigger than just a set or a track."

THE ART OF MUSIC PRODUCTION
Novah’s sound is a dynamic fusion of acid, trance, and hard techno, yet there is a distinctiveness to it that sets it apart. Her approach to music production is rooted in both intuition and vision, allowing the music to guide her while still drawing from emotional experiences.
"It’s a mix of both. Sometimes I sit down with a clear idea of a track, especially if I’m inspired by a certain energy or moment I’ve experienced. But a lot of the time, I just let intuition guide me. I love creating tracks that tell a story, that take you on an emotional journey—whether that’s through a powerful melody in the break or a heavy, driving drop. For me, the goal is always to create something that resonates on a deeper level, not just something that sounds good in a club."
For Novah, achieving the flow state—a place where creativity becomes effortless—is vital to her process. This state allows him to craft music that embodies the energy she wishes to share with her listeners. But even when in the flow, deciding when a track is finished can be a challenge.
"The flow state is real. When I’m in it, hours feel like minutes. It’s like the music is already there, and I’m just uncovering it piece by piece. The hardest part is knowing when a track is done—because as an artist, you always feel like you could tweak something, and make it better. For me, a track is finished when it gives me that feeling—when I can close my eyes, imagine playing it in a set, and feel the energy it’s going to bring to the dancefloor."

Collaborations and Growth
Working with renowned labels such as Taapion, No Mercy, and Teletech has provided Novah with invaluable lessons in both music and perseverance. One particularly impactful lesson was the importance of patience in the music production process.
"One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is patience. Music production is a journey, and growth doesn’t happen overnight. When I released A Savage with Shlømo’s label Taapion, it was a huge milestone for me because it was the first track I truly felt proud of after a long learning process. Shlømo’s support meant a lot, and it reminded me that persistence and passion always pay off. The best advice I’ve received is to stay true to my sound—trends come and go, but authenticity is what builds a lasting career."
In a constantly evolving industry, Novah’s commitment to authenticity has become a cornerstone of her artistry, ensuring that her music resonates deeply with those who listen to it.
Through her journey, Novah has found not just a career, but a way of life—one defined by freedom, energy, and a deep connection with both the music and the community that surrounds it.

The Essence Beyond Sound
At her core, Novah is driven by a deeper purpose than simply producing music. For her, it’s about recreating the same feeling she experienced as a former raver—an unforgettable sensation she first encountered at a festival. This connection, freedom, and unity are what she seeks to share through her music.
"At my core, I’m someone who wants to recreate that feeling as a former raver —the one I had at my first festival. It’s not just about hard techno; it’s about the connection, the freedom, the unity that comes with it. I want my music to be an experience, something that people remember not just as a track, but as a moment."
Novah’s approach to music transcends genre and label. She doesn’t simply create sounds; she crafts experiences that resonate on a personal level with her audience. This connection is rooted in her passion for hard techno, a genre that embodies a certain attitude and culture, one that is rebellious and free-spirited.
"Hard techno has always had this underground, rebellious energy—it’s music for the outsiders, the misfits, the ones who find freedom in the chaos. When I play, I want to amplify that energy. It’s about breaking barriers, rejecting the ordinary, and creating a space where people can fully express themselves."
For Novah, her music isn’t just about making people dance—it’s about giving them a space where they can truly be themselves, free from judgment.
Looking ahead to 2025, Novah is set to make a massive impact with her music. But beyond what’s already planned, she has an exciting vision for her artistic evolution.
One area she’s eager to explore is the intersection of music and visual storytelling. She envisions creating more immersive experiences by incorporating cinematic elements into her productions, possibly even collaborating with visual artists. Additionally, she plans to explore new sounds, particularly infusing more trance elements into her music.
"I’d love to explore more cinematic and storytelling elements in my productions—bringing in atmospheric textures, maybe even collaborating with visual artists to create immersive experiences. I would love to go also more on trance elements with my productions. I started with Hard Techno but I’m sure 2025 will also be infused with hard trance for me."
Her evolving sound and artistic ambitions reflect her desire to push boundaries, not just in terms of music but in how it’s experienced by the audience. She’s looking to create music that resonates on a deeper level, one that leaves a lasting impact.
When looking five years into the future, Novah sees herself continuing her journey of growth and evolution. To her, success isn’t defined by playing the biggest stages; it’s about staying true to the essence of her music and maintaining the connection with her community.
"I see myself still pushing boundaries, evolving. Success, for me, isn’t just about playing the biggest stages—it’s about creating music that resonates, building a community, and staying true to the essence of why I started. If five years from now, I can still look back and say, I’m doing this for the right reasons, then that’s success."
For Novah, success is about the journey and the ability to maintain a genuine connection with her art, her community, and herself.
When you sit down to talk with Novah, it’s immediately clear that her music is more than just sound—it’s a visceral experience, a way of connecting to something deeper. In our conversation, she spoke with such authenticity about why she does what she does, and it’s impossible not to feel the raw passion behind her words.
There’s something truly powerful in that—how her music isn’t just for the moment; it’s about creating something that lives within you long after the set is over. For Novah, it’s about giving people the same sense of belonging she found in her early days as a raver, that unshakable feeling of freedom that comes when the beat drops and you forget about everything else.
What struck me most was her unapologetic commitment to the rebellious, outsider spirit that hard techno embodies. She’s not in it for the recognition or the applause; she’s in it because she believes in the culture and the raw energy that it carries.
You can hear this in her sets, where it’s not about simply playing tracks—it’s about unleashing an intensity that invites people to let go of all expectations and just be.
Her creative process reflects this same raw honesty. Novah doesn’t approach her music with a formula or a checklist of trends to follow. Instead, she listens to the energy inside her and lets that guide her.
That kind of trust in the process—letting the music unfold naturally—feels rare in today’s world of overproduction and commercial trends. She isn’t trying to chase what’s popular; she’s creating what feels true to her. It’s this honesty that makes her sound so unique—every track feels like a conversation, a direct line to her heart.
Looking ahead, Novah is ready to expand her boundaries, as if she’s never fully settled into one sound. She’s already thinking beyond the four-on-the-floor of hard techno and into the cinematic, the atmospheric, and the trance-infused.
It’s clear that she’s not content with staying in one lane—she wants her music to evolve, shift, and grow, just like she does as an artist. The beauty of it is that whatever direction she takes, it will undoubtedly still be infused with that unmistakable Novah essence—a desire to connect, to build, to be free.
In the end, what resonated most from our conversation was her definition of success. It isn’t about playing bigger festivals or having more followers; it’s about staying true to her roots and the reason she started in the first place.
"Success, for me, isn’t just about playing the biggest stages—it’s about creating music that resonates, building a community, and staying true to the essence of why I started."
Novah’s journey feels like a testament to the idea that success isn’t something that happens to you—it’s something you create, day by day, track by track, set by set. If her music continues to evolve as it has, there’s no doubt she’s going to leave a lasting mark on the world. But more than that, she’s creating a space where people don’t just dance—they feel seen, heard, and part of something bigger. And honestly, that’s the kind of success that matters.
