Mathame is rewriting the future of clubbing with their NEO residency at Amnesia Ibiza

Amnesia Ibiza has seen its fair share of big nights. This summer, it’s getting a whole new universe. Mathame, the Italian brothers pushing melodic techno into uncharted territory, have landed their NEO residency, and they’re not just bringing music. They’re getting a fully immersive, high-emotion, sci-fi-meets-sacred-space experience that completely inverts the idea of “going clubbing.”

NEO isn’t a run of gigs. It’s a world of its own. At its centre: a towering AI deity, a digital guardian for the rebels, the misfits, the ones who don’t fit the mould. Under its watch, Mathame unleashes a sound-story they have been building for two years: cinematic melodies with real emotional weight, heavy atmospheres, and a visual language that people are already calling “emo-tech.” They are right. This does not sound or look like anything else out there.

The opening night hit like a vision. The Amnesia floor was reborn as a temple, every beat carrying intent. The soundtrack? Almost 100% Mathame. Original cuts, fearless remixes, long-clamoured-for IDs. Don Diablo joined the procession, as did Afshin Momadi and Lyke in a b2b that sent the room into overdrive. It was a statement. Amnesia still knows precisely how to lead the charge in Ibiza.

And the story’s only just started. This Friday, Mathame goes b2b with GORDO. On August 22, it is Dubfire and Mistajam. August 29 brings the grand finale with Parisi and Okgiorgio locking horns. Each date feels like its own chapter. You are not just going to another party; you are stepping into another slice of the myth.

The seed for all this was planted months ago when Mathame dropped a trailer made entirely with AI, sparking a global buzz. Since then, NEO has appeared everywhere, from Tomorrowland to Buenos Aires, Dubai to New York. But Ibiza is where it is hitting its most complete and uncompromising form.

If you are still not acquainted, “Mathame” is the duo composed by Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli, crafting music from the volcanic isolation of Mount Etna that sounds like widescreen cinema: epic, layered, hypnotic. Tracks like "Skywalking" and "Nothing Around Us" have put them on the biggest festival stages, such as Coachella, Ultra Miami, Printworks, and Hï Ibiza. Yet it is their conceptual shows that seal the legend: a 3D animated set, a Cercle stream performed live on Etna, and now, NEO.
