La Discothèque secures major investment to fuel global expansion

La Discothèque is officially taking its signature high-octane glitterfest global. Marking a milestone 10th anniversary, the UK disco and house institution has secured a major investment from Escapism—the electronic music brand and family office headed up by Dez Derry—to push the brand into North America, Europe, and Asia.

Founded a decade ago by Kat Warburton, who remains at the helm as CEO, La Discothèque has grown from a beloved club night into one of the UK’s most formidable party brands. Known for its stacked lineups featuring dance music pioneers, wild production, and iconic flamingo motifs, the crew has spent ten years selling out flagship venues like Manchester’s Albert Hall, the late Printworks, and London’s giant Drumsheds, along with high-profile residencies at Pikes and 528 Ibiza.

The newly injected capital will build out Warburton’s core team and infrastructure, enabling the brand to produce simultaneous large-scale shows worldwide without losing the extravagant charm and community-first ethos that made it a powerhouse.

“I’m incredibly proud to have taken La Discothèque to its 10th Anniversary,” says founder Kat Warburton. “A decade of building, pushing boundaries, and throwing some seriously unforgettable parties... The investment from Escapism gives us the opportunity to take La Discothèque to the next level, elevating every part of the brand, expanding into new markets, and bringing our vision to audiences around the world.”

The deal marks the very first step in a broader strategy for Escapism, which focuses on backing proven electronic dance music brands catering to an older demographic. Derry’s eight-figure fund plans to roll out six similar global investments over the next three years.

“Escapism backs music brands that have already proven themselves, and La Discothèque has done exactly that over a historic 10 years,” says Dez Derry. “We're not here to change what already works. We're here to give Kat and her team the platform to take the unique La Discothèque experience to the rest of the world.”

The announcement lands right in the middle of a massive celebratory year for the crew. Following a landmark summer residency at 528 Ibiza in July, La Discothèque is capping off 2026 with two huge UK anniversary events this November: a mammoth five-room takeover at Manchester’s The Warehouse Project and a high-capacity return to Drumsheds following their last sold-out show there.

Meanwhile, Escapism is prepping for its own sold-out debut event on October 10 at Manchester’s iconic Victoria Baths, featuring house royalty Deep Dish alongside Smokin Jo and Pattn.
