KI/KI drops first solo EP on own slash imprint

The release sees 3 different takes on crowd favorite ‘Leave it to the vibe’

Amsterdam based DJ, producer and label owner KI/KI has been making waves in the underground dance scene for several years now and finally releases her long awaited debut EP on her own slash imprint. The highly anticipated anthem 'Leave it to the vibe' has been doing rounds in her DJ sets for nearly two years and made a big impact on her notorious Boiler Room performance during AVA Festival back in 2021. Finally it’s getting a well deserved release on her fast growing slash label.

On slash004, KI/KI reworks ‘Leave it to the vibe’ in two different ways. The original perfectly shows where KI/KI flourishes at the moment, it's a fast-paced high energy dance floor anthem with a nostalgic deep trance drift. Using her own vocals, incorporated in hypnotic loops, this EP sure is a collector’s item for her dedicated fanbase. For the reworks on the b-side she stripped down the original into two new versions. Where 'To the vibe (rework)' highlights a subtle twinkle that illuminates the beauty of melodies, 'Leave it to the drums' could be seen as the dub version capturing an impeccable energy that represents the late night, strobo heavy warehouse energy where KI/KI finds her comfort zone.

“It was after a series of such late night, strobo induced warehouse shows that I went away on a much needed weekend in nature by myself. On these weekends I can truly empty my head, zone out and recharge. During this weekend I dreamt about hearing this particular track in Berghain. When I woke up in the middle of the night, I realized that this track didn’t exist yet and I knew what to do. I immediately recorded the vocals on my phone and wrote down the base of the track. It’s surreal that the track literally came to me in my dreams and I'm beyond thrilled to finally share it with you all.” - KI/KI

slash004 is the fourth release on her slash imprint and follows well received EP’s that include tracks of Alpha Tracks, Orlando Voorn and Peachlyfe. This long awaited solo EP follows many sold out shows and a jam-packed worldwide touring schedule this summer.

KI/KI is swiftly progressing into a household name in the underground dance scene and is gaining fans far and wide. Starting out as a resident DJ at queer stronghold Spielraum back in 2018, KI/KI has rapidly evolved into a nightlife bastion of her own. In the past years she’s taken dance floors by storm all around the world. She made a mark with unforgettable all-nighters, started her own concept 5 HRS OF ACID, upsurging Boiler Room views, and striking dance floors from Berghain to Bassiani, from Awakenings to Pitch Music & Arts - and she’s not planning to slow down anytime soon.
