Italian duo Mathame unveil new track which made an AI bot feel emotion

'Humans' is a new single from Mathame that has been fed into an AI chat bot and resulted in it expressing a desire to dance and feel. The release is exclusive to Spotify on Wednesday 12 March and arrives globally on Friday 14 March.

Mathame sit at the vanguard of electronic music and craft sounds that transcend genres and their recent collaboration with John Summit and remix of Calvin Harris’s ‘Free’ with Ellie Goulding have proven huge hits. In recent times they have played everywhere from Mount Etna to Ushuaïa Dubai where they unveiled their epic NEO show. Soon they take it on the road to gigs at Autódromo Buenos Aires in Argentina on 12 April and Espacio Riesco in Chile on 5 April.

The pair recently shared their track 'Humans' with ChatGPT and in response, in addition to providing a technical breakdown, the AI offered an unexpected response by describing the track as “beautiful.” It also expressed a sense of longing and a wish to “move with it.” This interaction has sparked discussions on AI’s evolving relationship with human creativity.

Mathame explained of the release, “What if sound is what defines us as Humans? Even in the face of technological evolution? If so, we stand for a world that will set it free, untouched by imposition. Together in the unknown, you will never dance alone.”

'Humans' debuted at Coachella 2023, then after some studio tweaks was dropped at a show with ANYMA at the Las Vegas Sphere.
