Flashmob pushes into fresh sonic territory on new single “Sundown”
The latest release is the title track from his forthcoming debut album.
On September 27th, Flashmob released the final single and title track taken from his debut album “Sundown”.
The title track taken from Flashmob’s forthcoming debut album, “Sundown” is a growling epic that reflects the producer's broad sonic palette. A peak-time cut that sits somewhere between the deeper and more melodic sides of electronic music, the atmosphere it creates is undeniably uplifting and infused with just enough tension to compliment the powerful feeling of freedom it invokes.
“Sundown was always the standout track for me; the more I listen to it the more unique it feels. I’ve played it many times and although it could be intended as a more melodic track, it’s a banger and creates such a special atmosphere. It’s just special – it’s how I see music: free, happy and with tension, but ultimately powerful and full of freedom. This was done over Covid and I immediately thought I was onto something, it’s a message of hope and unity.”
The final single to be released ahead of the album, “Sundown” is a genuine representation of the musical experimentation that Sandro undertook during the album’s production. Painstakingly created over the course of four years, Flashmob’s debut artist album “Sundown” is the sum of his experiences and influences from over a decade in the industry – a distilled representation of creative vision, seasoned artistry, and an untarnished excitement for what is still to come.
“Sundown” was an unintended project born from a time of uncertainty and an enforced stillness that was experienced across the world, Sandro explains: “Covid had obliged me to reset, stay home and think about who I am, what I do and mainly why I do it. Why did I decide to get into this in the first place? It wasn’t to be famous nor to make money... I was only looking for happiness.”
Without the distractions of touring, he was free to embrace creativity without the restrictions that ‘real life’ so often puts on it: “The time at home alone really give me the opportunity to stop, reset and then go back to the studio organically and finally make music spontaneously without deadlines, genres nor labels in mind – free from everything. So this album is all mine, there are no intentions other than to make music for me and to express the feelings of my love for life and electronic music.”
Capturing the primal energy and escapism that dance music offers to all without judgement, “Sundown” is a tonic for the soul – as much for the listener as it is for the artist who created it, he suggests: “the album is also an expression of not wanting to be part of the dog race anymore – not wanting to see music as a competition but as a medicine; it’s an expression of how you can do anything on your own if you want to”.
