Dance Spirit regresa tras seis años de silencio con "tranquilized & hypnotized"

After a six-year hiatus, acclaimed Los Angeles electronic duo Dance Spirit return with “Tranquilized & Hypnotized,” the first single from their long-awaited second album, Lunatic, arriving July 31 via their newly launched independent label, Koukan. Originally completed prior to the pandemic, the project remained unreleased for six years before Christopher Mohn and Reagan Denius reunited to bring it to light on their own terms.

Introducing the album is "Tranquilized & Hypnotized," a slow-burning piece of downtempo electronica built around signature percussion, modular textures, and dreamlike melodies. The release arrives in three distinct interpretations: the vocal-led Original Cut, the ambient-focused Tranquilized Mix, and the club-ready Hypnotized Mix, which transforms the arrangement into a hypnotic minimal groover.

“'Tranquilized & Hypnotized' explores that space between enlightenment and destruction," says Christopher Mohn. "Some of life's greatest transformations come through heartbreak, loss and unexpected challenges. Looking back now, it feels almost like this song was written for our future selves. Releasing it together after everything we've been through is a reminder that some stories simply aren't finished.”

Scheduled for release on September 25, Lunatic is an 11-track multimedia album accompanied by original visual works for every song. Following milestone releases across Bedrock Records, Get Physical Music, Crosstown Rebels, and Mobilee Records, alongside festival appearances at Burning Man, Fabric London, and Kater Blau, Dance Spirit's return on Koukan marks the beginning of an ambitious new chapter centered on creative autonomy and audio-visual storytelling.
