Brian Cid taps into his Dominican background on a new remix of Josean Jacobo’s 'Ay Mamá!'

Brooklyn-born, Berlin-based producer and DJ Brian Cid has remixed Dominican artist Josean Jacobo's 'Ay Mamá!'. The track, originally released on Santo Domingo’s Point Records, tells the story of a man captivated by a woman who left him.
Endangered label head Cid has established himself with work on labels such as Balance Music, Supernature and Get Physical and as a resident at Kater Blau Berlin and Cityfox NY, while Jacobo is a prominent figure in contemporary Latin jazz.
Says Cid of the remix, which draws on his Dominican roots, "I aimed to create a laid-back, beachy vibe with a touch of abstraction, crafting a journey that feels like a refreshing dive into the ocean. Technically, the focus was on layering complex rhythms while keeping the experience smooth and easy to absorb. No overthinking…just pure, feel-good energy."
And he does that in style while bringing his genre-blurring style and colliding jazz, electronic, and organic sounds into a lush and laid back groove peppered with percussion and whimsical melodies that touch the soul.
This remix is perfectly relaxed and warming for late night love-ins and it arrives on Point Records on 9 May 2025:https://onerpm.link/280012535414
