Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance Festival in the Netherlands will move its flagship event from Utrecht to Rotterdam in 2024. The event is also expanding into a full weekend experience with day-time activities including artist Q&As, panels, pre-parties, demo-drops as well as two full nights of musical programming.
Armin van Buuren has announced major plans for the expansion of his world-renowned A State of Trance Festival in the Netherlands. After taking place in Utrecht for over a decade, van Buuren is moving the flagship event to Rotterdam. The newly unveiled plans include broadening the event’s programming into daytime with activities ranging from masterclasses and demo-drops to panels and artist Q&As. With the expansion into daytime and by becoming a multi-day event Rotterdam will truly become the global epicenter of trance music. A State of Trance 2024 will take place on the 23rd and 24th of February 2024 in Ahoy in Rotterdam. The expansion plans are partly due to the incredibly high demand for tickets and the wish of fans to improve their experience even further.
The news was revealed in a dedicated episode of A State of Trance Radio, recorded live from the top floor of the highest residential building in the Benelux. The live broadcast was followed by an exclusive performance by Armin van Buuren after which van Buuren reiterated his excitement for the future of the brand; “Utrecht has been an incredible place for the past years. We’ve all made countless memories there; I myself even went to my first rave in the Jaarbeurs venue back in 1993, and I’ve also hosted some of my Armin Only shows there. But unfortunately, they’re tearing down the iconic hall that housed our mainstage every year, so we’ve no choice but to look elsewhere. So I’m proud to say that we’re moving A State of Trance from Utrecht to… Rotterdam! The city offers infinite possibilities to build out and strengthen the legacy of A State of Trance and I’m thrilled for us to build an even more exciting future for A State of Trance in Rotterdam!”
DESTINATION
The complete take-over of the city is the embodiment of A State of Trance’s next theme, DESTINATION, providing fans with an experience unlike anything a single entity in dance music has done. Part of the excitement comes from the city of Rotterdam’s dedication to the event, fully opening up the city to the arrival of A State of Trance. A State of Trance 2024 in Rotterdam will see performances of over 70 artists spread out across five different stages. The multitude of stages allow for musical diversification as well as playing host to the iconic A State of Trance sound.
A State of Trance Hotel
With over half of its visitors flying in from across the globe, A State of Trance is dedicated to provide the very best experience possible. 2024 will see the introduction of the A State of Trance Hotel, fully taking over the Room Mate Bruno Hotel for the weekend. Many of the daytime activities will take place at the A State of Trance Hotel, making the hotel the official hub for the weekend and the perfect place to come home to after a long night. Fans will be able to purchase a variety of travel packages for A State of Trance 2024, some including a room in the A State of Trance Hotel and others without. Ticket Information
Since the announcement, it has been possible to register for ticket sales via astateoftrance.com/register. For registered users, the sale of weekend tickets and hotel packages will start on June 28th at 19:00 CEST through the website, with ticket prices starting at €69.00. The regular ticket sale will start one hour later at 20:00 CEST.
Before the regular ticket sale begins, it will be possible to secure the ultimate A State of Trance Hotel Experience starting from June 26th at 7:00 PM. This includes an overnight stay at the A State of Trance Hotel and weekend tickets. For registered users, the sale of the ultimate A State of Trance Hotel Experience will start on June 26th at 19:00 CEST via astateoftrance.com/register, tickets for the A State of Trance Hotel start at €387,50. The regular ticket sale will start one hour later at 20:00 CEST.
