AMÉMÉ delivers debut BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

West African Afro-House innovator AMÉMÉ has made his debut on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1 Dance's lauded Essential Mix series. Originally aired via BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1 dance, AMÉMÉ's Essential Mix is available to stream on-demand online at BBC Sounds.

Hosted by Pete Tong, BBC's Essential Mix Series is the coveted, quintessential opportunity for tastemakers in dance and electronic music to showcase the fingerprint of their musical identity across 120 minutes of a meticulously crafted mix.

AMÉMÉ’s debut installment in the BBCR1 Essential Mix series boasts the full breadth of AMÉMÉ's musical fingerprint, fully exemplifying his unique brand of "AMÉMÉ House" - cementing his position as an authority and influential in African-influenced house music.

The release follows recent successes like AMÉMÉ’s two-tracker Atalakou / Torero via Chris Lake's Black Book Recordings, "NEVER" on Gorgon City's REALM Records, the "Wild Animal" cut on Defected's recently-minted One People imprint, and his Latin fusion heater "Ando High" with Tom & Collins, also on Insomniac Records.

AMÉMÉ's signature One Tribe event series continues touching down globally, relaunching at fabric London, taking a quarterly Amsterdam residency at Shelter, and hitting Ibiza and Egypt's Cubix - with a scheduled homecoming in New York to the intimate House of Yes on September 14th.

One Tribe’s resurgence comes alongside a packed summer of AMÉMÉ festival appearances like Awakenings, Tomorrowland Belgium, Sonus, and Audio Obscura, plus an enduring Ibiza presence at Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream, Jamie Jones' Paradise, Bedouin's Saga, Rumours, and more.
