Ajamu Kambon to receive honour at 2025 HollyShorts Film Festival

Ajamu Kambon, CEO, Owner, and Co-Founder of Deep Root Tribe and Deep Root Records, will be honoured at the upcoming 2025 HollyShorts Film Festival. Kambon is set to accept the inaugural Afro House Label Maverick Award on behalf of Deep Root Records during the festival's Music Honorees Award Category.

The award presentation will take place on August 12th at the TCL Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles. This year’s edition of HollyShorts celebrates the influence of House and Afro House music, genres that are central to Deep Root Tribe’s identity and global reach.

The 21st edition of the Oscar-qualifying festival runs from August 7th - 17th and features a high-profile lineup including Idris Elba, Stormzy, Michael Madsen, Viola Davis, Stephen Fry and others.

In addition to receiving the award, Kambon will also join the festival’s Music Industry Panel, hosted in collaboration with production company Framework. He will appear alongside notable figures such as Karaba, Mathematics (Wu-Tang Clan), Dr. Chaii and Bantu.
